yes, i think it got to be a michahellis although a very weird one. not because of the strongly bleached and worn coverts and remiges - this is rel. frequent in spring southern large gulls, as is the malcoloured and misshaped bill. but such a pale iris in a 1st cycle (2cy = 2nd calendar year) i have not seen before. it is a 2cy though and not an older bird, primaries are pointed and such worn covert field is usually seen in 1st cycles only this early. the few 2nd gen. coverts are also in favour of YLG. as is head shape and general structure. i'm not going too much into detail why i excluded similar large taxons, but michahellis is the best option here!
