Rustic Shoulder-knot and Shears.

I'm not confident on either.

I wonder about Glaucous Shears for the second moth:-

I also struggle to see the streak at the base of the forewing to mean that I am confident on Rustic Shoulderknot. On balance, I think that I can just see it on the right wing but I would like to see another clearer photo showing it and I'd like to see it on both wings. I simply flag up Large Nutmeg as a potential confusion species:-

I'll have a look with a different monitor to lose the greyish caste on the first moth!! However, having checked against Glaucous Shears, I'm happy with the first now as Shears:-

Brian - can you see the streak at the base of the forewing on the first moth to be confident of the identification? I have found it an invariable feature of Rustic Shoulderknot in the past and I really struggle to see it in the photo. It most resembles Rustic Shoulderknot but I worry about the apparent lack of 'the feature'.

The dark trailing half of the reniform is a good feature I think.

The basal streak could be there, just a bit obscured in this photo. I understand Large Nutmeg can show this and rsk's can be somewhat reduced.
