A Mink at Mildenham Mill - bouncing around in their garden!
My first Green-veined Whites of the year
Peacocks and Small Tortoiseshells

Definitely an increase in singing Blackcaps around Salwarpe
 
Another Willow Warbler was singing about 50 metres from the first one.

Other birds seen this morning included a Lesser Redpoll in a Larch tree at Gorsey Bank and a Snipe near Copcut Rise. 3 Greylags over Hawford fishing pools. Swallows and Sand Martins becoming more widespread and numerous over the past 2 days. 2 Ravens at Middleton Bank yesterday. Coot and Little Grebe on Tapenhall pool. Meadow Pipits frequent overhead. A flock of c 25 Linnets near Salwarpe.
 
Willow Warbler this morning in hedge at the junction of Egg Lane and A449.
23 Fieldfares over Sinton Lane and 2 over near Salwarpe.
1 Redwing near Hawford farm.
Pair of Mandarin at Knight's Grove and a pair at Hawford Lock.
Lapwing near Chatley.
2 Coots Tapenhall pool.
3 Greylags around Mildenham - Hawford - Tapenhall.
Lots of Meadow Pipits over and many Sand Martins passing through in several places.
3+ Yellowhammers Sinton Lane.
Grey Herons carrying nest material noted over Moat Farm and Tapenhall - both flying west.
Kestrels, Buzzards and Sparrowhawk.
Many singing Blackcaps and Chiffchaffs.
Linnets, Nuthatch, Mistle Thrushes, Grey Wagtails, Reed Buntings, Coal Tits, Goldcrests, etc.
 
Male Tawny Owl calling near Porter's Mill this evening.
1 House Martin and many Sand Martins around Chatley earlier.
Two pairs of Lapwings near there.
Many bats at dusk - mainly small Pipistrelles and one possible Daubenton's.
 
Further species recorded on the patch today:

Male and female Tawny Owls calling at Salwarpe before dawn.
A pair of Mandarin near the small pool between Chatley and Hawford.
A pair of Gadwall near Linacre bridge.
3 Swallows flying around and perched on wires around Linacres stables
Passage of Meadow Pipits and Sand Martins
Redwings overhead calling at dusk.
 
Rather quiet the last few mornings and evenings - apart from the dawn chorus, which is quite intense around daybreak (Song Thrushes, Blackbirds, Robins, Wrens, Dunnocks, Blackcaps, Chiffchaffs, Reed Buntings, Skylarks, Nuthatch, Goldcrests, Coal and other Tits).

Redwings over yesterday morning - may be the last ones until October.

7 Cormorants flying towards Westwood this morning
House Martin at Porter's Mill yesterday evening plus Little Grebe on Tapenhall pool calling

Greylag, Little Grebe, Kestrels, Blackcaps, Chiffchaffs, Buzzards, Sparrowhawk, Linnets, Skylarks, Coot, Grey Herons, Cormorants, etc.
 
The Goshawk flew in quite low and caused havoc amongst a group of Woodpigeons. As it flew off its bulk and powerful flight action were very distinct. It also showed a dark hood with broad white supercilium. The 'jiz' was quite peregrine-like.
 
14 Fieldfares and a Redwing at Hawford this morning plus 12 more Fieldfares over near Mayhouse farm this afternoon - spring seems to be quite slow to get going this year.
2 Lapwings near New Mill and another near Chatley.
A pair of Yellowhammers near Chatley
A pair of Gadwall on Tapenhall pool plus further birds (5+) around Hawford
Willow Warbler at Mildenham Mill plus others near Mayhouse farm and at Salwarpe.
Swallows at Hawford, Chatley and around Salwarpe.
Lots of Sand Martins near Hawford plus singles elsewhere.
House Martin near New Miĺl
Large flock of hirundines over Westwood
Redpoll over near Salwarpe
Mandarin drake near Mayhouse cottages.
High concentrations of Blackcaps in several areas
Kingfisher around Salwarpe today and at Hawford yesterday
Grey Wagtails, Meadow Pipits, Linnets, Kestrel, Skylarks.
