Hello, I am a new member. I come from Maghull Liverpool which is a large urban area, I feed the birds in my garden and have many sparrows, starlings, goldfinches and also regular visits from a sparrowhawk which goes for mainly doves who also visit my feeder. Over the last month I have noticed many raptors flying overhead sometimes in groups of four, I was wondering if they are a family. any ideas? Meggie

Hi meggie,

A warm welcome to BirdForum from all the Moderators and Admin. Glad to have you on board :t:

It could be a family group. Do you know which species you are seeing?

they sound very much like buzzards, they seem to be doing well in the liverpool area.myself and a few workmates watched 6 birds the other week over runcorn

Thanks for the input, buzzards it is then. It was the noise they were making that caused me to look up, they were calling.
