Honey Buzzards and Common Buzzards, Crete (1 Viewer)

Is it normal for Honey-buzzard to be moving this early? I know Crete is some way south of Lesvos, but we don't begin to get them through until early May (first dates in recent years have been 2 May 08 and 6 May 09).

Totally agree, we have only had one or two through this way in previous springs, lots of buteo though and usually later, definately not this early but they were definate honey's and they are heading north to the cold , whats happening ?
There have been southerly winds for the past few weeks and one of the "Gadaffi Gifts" a sand storm that cleared yesterday maybe they flew in on that ?
