Mallorca 2018 (3 Viewers)

As Mike mentioned, a great day in the office today.
Attached some shots of the subalpine (Sylvia cantillans)
Also a shot of the a Wood Warbler, taken at the new platform by the hotel in S'Albufereta, where Mike found the stunning Bluethroat and a Pied Flycatcher taken in the woods next to the larger platform, where there was a second Wood Warbler too.

Thanks Patrick, brilliant photos. I do hope people comment. I think there are at least two Sub-alpine warblers present as your photos don’t look like the bird I saw.
Just for the record, Max spotted the Bluethroat over my shoulder so I was clearly looking the wrong way!
Mike

Bet i know some of the group from North Staffs, any photos Pere.
Remember having a good chat with Patrick at salbufera, pleasure meeting you both.

Hello all - occasionally check this thread to see whats happening (im out in May) and saw above photos of Subalp - given the broad striking white malar stripe and very pale underparts it does look like an Eastern Subalpine (Sylvia Cantillans) but actually reading in Birding Frontiers (Garner, 2014) the shortness (length) of malar stripe is perhaps suggestive of Moltonis and I think that is other species to eliminate - can send photo to couple of very good contacts of mine if you wish?

Hi Chris. That sounds great to me and I’m sure the locals would not mind. I know there has been a big debate about its identity.
Just one Hobby through the tower so far today photographed by Dani.
