Not a 'small gull' in my opinion, but rather looks like a Herring Gull, albeit possibly a small individual. Hard to rule out a 1st CY Yellow-legged from these images though.

Edit: having had a second look, there isn't much detail visible in the wings, except the obvious pale 'window' on the inner primaries-making my first suggestion by far the most likely option, probably a 2nd CY.

carefull, it's a 2nd cycle and in 2nd cycles strong window (pale inner primaries) can appear in caspian and YLG, too; not only in HG. but this bird looks like a herring gull, on compactness, the dark smudges on underparts and, well, moult fits also (seems to have fully grown p7 with p8 being on the way) but overlaps with YLG which would be the other contender.
