Canon SX60? (1 Viewer)

can't wait for the SX60 announcement . . . the 100x optical zoom seems quite likely now according to most 'rumour sites' (and given that the patent was published a few months ago).

for me though, a good upgrade from my SX50 would be a slightly larger sensor, faster lens, 3" 900k+ screen & most definitely a mic input jack. All these things i'm sure they could easily do if they so desired, but it's probably going to be 'reasonable unit price' that will govern what's in & what's out.

Ya. Extra zoom is not what's needed. What's needed it improvement on those other items. Mainly I'd want to see better low light capability.

With that sort of spec would be interested in trading in my SX40, never thought the 50 was that much of an upgrade for me as I use it mainly for video.

If it really gets pushed out to Sept. they will miss my vacations when I'd want it the most. Pretty sure Canon said May announcement but it's now June.

I am not sure that Canon have ever made any official announcements about a date for the SX60 - what we are seeing is just rumors and speculation.

Two weeks ago I went to a big photography shop in Madrid to look for a lens cover for my sx50. They said that the camera was not more in the shop because they were waiting for the sx60. Not only us are questioning about it, a shop was waiting for units. It´s surprising this delay.

Release date apparently now this September.......65X zoom (good) but no news on whether any of the other concerns voiced in #1 have been addressed......prob not (just to be pessimistic!:))

I think it was your post about the price drop of the predecessor to £239 that made me check again!! ;)
But it's been 'due out' since April so we'll wait and see!

Sorry Dipped and Tarsiger you are both correct. I always seem to notice Nikon more as they are prominent at the entrance end of the optics tent.:t:
