I am currently using a 450D running Firmware Version 1.0.4

I see on the Canon web site the latest version is 1.1.0

Is there any benifit in upgrading to this version.

Thanks Geoff

There was a thread on here a couple of weeks ago about 40D users who had upgraded to the latest firmware and had some problems, focusing IIRC.

If your camera is working ok I see no benefit in upgrading the firmware.

What tonyath said ! I believe that I commented in a similar vein to Tony in the previous thread mentioned and was criticised for being unhelpful.

If you go to the download page they list what they have done, just add up all the changes since 1.0.4 and then decide. 1.1.0 will incorporate all previous improvements. I have never, so far, had any problems updating my 20D then 40D.
