A good morning's birding for July:

As well as the Crossbills, a Common Tern flew up the valley over New Mill. Either it or another was seen later flying down the valley over Tapenhall pool.

2 Little Egrets flying around Porter's Mill.

Juvenile Cuckoo flew from the reeds along the canal at Tapenhall and showed well perched in a tree - it was giving its begging call constantly.

A nice yellow juvenile Willow Warbler along the canal at Mildenham.

2 Lapwing juveniles plus an adult at Linacre bridge again.

Coots - adult and well grown juvs on Tapenhall pool.

Reed and Sedge Warblers, Yellowhammer, Little Owl, Grey Herons, Blackcaps, Kestrel, Sparrowhawks, Buzzards, Reed Buntings, both common Woodpeckers, Swifts, Swallows and House Martin's.
