EU Commission Warning - Great News!! (1 Viewer)

Excellent. Now I hope the EU back it up with some really tough action should Malta not comply. In the link Bird Life ask us to send Dr Gonzi (Maltese PM) an email and I have done so:

Dear Dr Gonzi,

as a bird watcher and EU citizen I am writing to ask that Malta respects the law of the European Union and bans hunting and trapping of birds on your islands. I am pleased to see that the EU has sent Malta a final written warning and I hope the EU get really tough with you should you continue to defy them.

These are not your birds to trap and kill, they are all of 'our' birds and we are sick of the carnage we hear about in your islands. A lot of once numerous birds are declining because of the bloodbath in your islands every year and it has to stop. It is completely unacceptable and while it continues I will never visit Malta and I always urge those considering a visit not to do so until you rein in the madmen responsible.

Thank you for reading

Yours sincerely

Thanks VB!! Many have wrote on previous occassion to the prime minister, and we should still continue sending letters showing our support to the bird directive.
