May
May wasn't as good as expected with only 96 species recorded 2 being year ticks, we still had Goosander, Shoveler, Teal and Water Rail hanging on. we had 9 Wheatear, 8 Barnacle Geese, 5 Common Sandpiper, 5 Peregrine, 3 Little Ringed Plover, 3 Yellow Wagtail, 3 Hobby, 2 Red Kite, Osprey, Redstart, Spotted Flycatcher, Whinchat, Dunlin and Little Egret. we only had 5 pairs of Lapwing, Oystercatchers had done well with 3 young on Ice House and 2 young Forge Mill but sadly no Common Tern nesting this year, a pair of Linnet were found Nest Building, a very showy Tawny Owl was located and a late Redpoll was seen. The Spring all Dayer gave us 84 species ranking us 3rd out of 17 sites and 250 Swift was a good count
