The farmer was shown pics of juv Moorhen, Quail and Corncrake. He went straight for Corncrake. He says he saw a similar bird there yesterday. per Matt Hadlington

Must have just missed you Dave, we also popped down to Lakeside to see the Phalarope, beautiful views in a very well managed setting. What a place to have on your doorstep.

and the Egret was seen on and off all month with a max of 3 birds. Some of the best counts where 300+ Starling, 100+ Ring Necked Parakeet in the roost,60+ Lapwing, 32 Teal, 27 Shoveler,13 Goosander and 11 Wigeon. On the 15th a Manx Shearwater was found dead on a shed roof not far from the Valley and a possible Crake sp or a Quail was seen a couple of times at Salters Lane by one of the farmers from Forge Mill Farm.
