Rosy the African Crowned Eagle (1 Viewer)

Rosy has been a key member in the conservation of the African Crowned Eagle. With his mate, he has produced 12 chicks that have been released into the wild. Some of these released eagles are now breeding in the wild.

Rosy has been unsuccessful in producing any chicks in the last couple of years and it has now been established that this is due to severe cataracts in his eyes. Simon Thomsett, Rosy's carer of 30 years (and responsible for the successful releases), has been writing a blog about him on http://simonthomsett.wildlifedirect.org. Take the time to read his story.
