Hello from Gomera (1 Viewer)

Hello fellow birdsters,

I have a question for the lawyers among you. I want to know whether the destruction of the habitat of a protected species constitutes an offence in a signatory country. Here in Gomera the local authority has permitted the construction company building a new port extension to tear down half a mountain used as long as anyone can remember as a breeding ground by Cory's shearwaters.

Hello there David and a warm welcome to you from those of us on staff here at BirdForum :t:

Our laws are a bit different over here but the fact that it's a protected species as you state, my question would be as to what agency of their government enacted this protection.

Hi David and a warm welcome to Bird Forum from me too

I can't help with your question, but perhaps those that hang out in the Conservation forum here may be able to

And a very happy Christmas and New Year to you
