Quite large bird, sat on a fence post near stone henge (ie salisbury plain). Very pale almost white with a few rusty patches. Seen from car so no other details noted I'm afraid. I'm assuming this would most likely be a pale buzzard unless anyone can think of anything more exciting I should check photos of?
 
cheers guys. I was sure thats what it was but it was so pale and since I didn't get a decent look at it I thought i'd post in case I was missing any other obvious possibility.

Short-eared owl, bustard? More than likely was a common buzzard, though.
