Being away offshore for a key three weeks of the year has put a serious dent in my hopes of 200 species this year, however, a first for my offshore birding turned up this morning, and has given me a glimmer of hope.

A second visit to the Ythan Estuary produced two lifers today. That is four lifers in two visits. Needless to say, the Ythan Estuary is now one of my favourite places on Earth.
