What are these bees doing? (1 Viewer)

While wandering the souks of Marrakech, I spotted these bees. The shop had numerous bins and sacks of herbs, spices, grain, etc outside, but this was the only one with bees. Next to it were a couple of sacks containing what appeared to be a similar kibbled grain, but no bees.
Turns out, the others were durum wheat while the bees were on barley.
Any thoughts?
TIA

I wondered if they like the smell (a bees world is rather different to ours) ... attracted by some chemical odour perhaps.

Thanks for the IP.
Both suggestions came into my mind, with warming, my prefered option. It was quite cool out of the sun.
