I don't believe so ! Despite E-petitions and repeated postings by concerned parties the situation remains dormant with persecution of raptors continuing and no real indication of an acceptance for change by the shooting fraternity. Surely a major campaign could be started with the intention of communicating to Govt. that a majority of people "out there" are unhappy with the situation.
I wrote a piece on my own Blog ( https://www.birdingodyssey.blogspot.com/ ) yesterday suggesting RSPB needs to assume a far more prominent position than in recent times.
This is an issue that we must not allow to go stale.

Maybe just my connection, but thought you might wish to know that your website gets blocked, at least on my computer, and the following message posted:

"The owner of www.birdingodyssey.blogspot.com has configured their website improperly. To protect your information from being stolen, Firefox has not connected to this website"

I believe that's an artifact of Birdforum well-intentionedly auto-formatting links as "https", which not evey target site actually supports.

Birdforum even overrides my manual formatting, which I think is bad manners for a robot. This wouldn't have happened in an Asimov novel! ;-)

There was no option for a right-click to open, but you are correct that copying and pasting the address did open the site - didn't know that this would work, many thanks.

Still, for John, I guess not very satisfactory if the link is blocked when people try to access via the link ...an unwelcome distraction to getting the message out about the Hen Harriers and probably many persons will not think, or maybe bother, to try an alternate way to open the site.

Thanks Henning. I accessed the blog via Google as you suggested.

I've advised Admin of the issue, maybe a tweak here is possible, but I just don't know about these techie things!

Thanks all for the feedback relating to my Blogsite. Not quite sure what to alter but will certainly investigate . Apologies , Delia, if further inquiries directed to yourselves. I'm wondering if , in future, I ought perhaps to dispense with the "https:// " bit. Probably showing my ignorance of whole matter.

It's added by Birdforum, so you actally can't.

However, I just noticed that in Jos' signature, he has entered an "http" link to his homepage.

So it seems you should be able to put the link to your site in your signature in the "http" style without Birdforum interferig.

That's not a perfect solution since signature display can be switched off by users, so you can't really assume anyone is able to see and click it at any time, but it's probably an improvement over the current situation
