Joint Birdforum Lockdown List - April and May (2 Viewers)

You know the Redpolls aren't split either I take it?

Well spotted, it seems that I've managed to set up the list on an alternative taxonomy. ;)

Too late tonight to do much about it ... :cat:

106 species. Some glaring omissions.

Attached should be the Europe list (IOC) - 133 species. We need a few participants from Scandinavia/E Europe for variety possibly, but still plenty elsewhere to go. :t:

Good work Dan, Black Woodpecker missed off (see my post 59)
I will scan for Alpine Chough with my 'scope today., should be a dead cert.

Let’s have a Gambia list, please

Sorry for the teaser. The Government have decided to send a plane over to fetch us tomorrow, so I've been spending my last hours enjoying the freedom while I still can. I had 20-25 species over 3 days including Blue-bellied and Abyssinian Rollers, Black-shouldered Kite, Wattled and Black-headed Plovers. Heard Four-banded Sandgrouse at dusk out back twice. Will have lots of time on my hands when I get back to UK to give you the full list later, if this thread still ongoing.

From my balcony in Piedimonte Matese, Caserta province in southern Italy I can add

Pallid Harrier: adult male on March 28, certainly my best balcony bird ever! Part of a major movement on March 27-30, quite a few people in Italy got to add this one to their balcony/yard lists

Hen Harrier: 1 on March 29

Golden Eagle: 2 on March 28, a pair that nests not too far, but still very infrequently seen from home

Cuckoo: a fly-by yesterday

Scops Owl: calling most nights

Willow Warbler: 1 March 28

Oh, also Yellow-legged Gull through some patient scope scanning of the river plain a few km away

Booted eagle

Booted eagle over the house today. Also about 200 bee eaters in groups of 10-15, every 15 minutes or so.

Red Kite is not on the last UK list posted - certainly had one over here last week.

Robin and Yellowhammer also missing, so I can add those as well.

Steve

So I forgot to report this last week - it was sighted the 31 March!

Also today had its cousin the Cirl Bunting... Camberwell beauty in the garden - one of the recognisable butterflies for me.

So Rock to be added to March and Cirl to April, that said I did have Cirl in March as well but 4 days before our lockdown...
