It's very cold and windy here in London today, the first day of the backyard bird count for 2006.
A good friend in the UK suggested I join the forum so that in the future I could post some stories from our birding trips around the world.
My husband and I were introduced to this enjoyable pastime in 1999 by this same friend. Since then we have added a new dimension to our travels around North America and the rest of the world.
We also enjoy keeping track of the birds that come to several feeders in our garden, especially when we get a visit from passage migrants.
For now I am off to spend some time recording visitors for todays backyard count.
