One of the tree sparrow retraps was not ringed with one of our Group rings. We do know from the new BTO software it was ringed as a pullus this summer, but not where.

A dog walker ambling down a stubble pushed a large flock of finches, sparrows and yellowhammer right over our nets, but not one was caught.

Update - BTO have informed us the tree sparrow was ringed in Berwicshire in June as a nestling, 32km distant.
