I got confused too!...silhouetted flight images can be awkward at the best of times, am coming close to “pulling” this one, as the consensus appears to be thumbs down. I think the moral to this is....keep anything that might be construed as ambiguous...under wraps. :-C

Well ... better for it to be a bird sp., or one that got away than put out as something it wasn't tbh. Think the rarer the bird, the better and clearer it needs to be seen in order to be 100% sure it was that and not something else masquerading as.
Guess the very windy conditions (?) wouldn't have helped in your id at the time.

Lose some, win some. At last!...interaction between male and female Peregrine, high over the lee valley ridge...back to Heinz. 
I’m sure you’ll nose ahead Richard as always, however a long time waiting having to wade through many Sprawks, my first female gentilis...Cloudy still and “almost” warm in time order- male and female Peregrine high at 12.30, gentilis high and West at 12.39, with a record 4 Com.Buzzards at 12.53pm...bit of a roll I’d say....lest I forget no.58.

Just got an armchair garden tick when inputting today's sightings to Ebird, it said I was on 51, not 50 for the Garden/Yard 2019, a bit of trawling through my observations and there it was, so small I'd overlooked it:

Just before sunset a hirundine whizzed over and after ten anxious minutes (for me, not the bird ) it reappeared hawking insects over the valley. Not surprisingly for this date it was a

No reports for the next few days as we're off to UK, I want to do some pre-Brexit stocking up on Scottish Oatcakes which rumour has it, may be subject to high tariffs/import charges in the future Brave New World

Definitely on a roll, a casual glance over the canopy revealed two unmistakeable fast shallow wing-beating Goosander, heading West to the reservoirs. no.60.
