Indeed - there were in fact 3 linnets! There are fairly large flocks on the hills at the moment.

Any ideas on the previous one?

It was a little ringed plover juvenile - we have all been keeping our fingers crossed as it was rather late - but it seems to have made it.

made it in which sense? late in autumn? actually many are still around.
