Hi there,

my wife and I we used to spend holidays birding independently in various places worldwide. Now that we are a small and happy family we are looking for travel destinations where we can bird in a child friendly way. That means not too long flights (10 h max from Central Europe, not too much driving, good birding opportunities / rich birdlife around the accommodation and surroundings to explore for our little yob.
Do you have any recommendations for such places in the U.S.?

Really you should have posted this in the 'information wanted' forum to get more feedback

Anyway for child friendly places that are easy to get to - off the top of my head:

1) Cape May, NJ - great town for kids.
2) Big Sur, CA
3) Yosemite, CA
4) Central Park NY - it's safe nowadays.
5) Southern Florida inc Naples, everglades and keys
6) Chincoteague, VA
