I will be going to Abernethy Forest and Loch Garten next week, any tips on places beside it to go or how to see the following species will be greatly appreciated.

Birds:
Crested Tit
Scottish Crossbill
Common Crossbill
Parrot Crossbill
Great Spotted Woodpecker
Green Woodpecker

Mammals:
Deer
Hedgehog
Bats
Badger
Scottish Wildcat

Has anyone been to the Strathspey Badger Hide?

Have a read of IanF report it is 3 year old but we did go again this year and saw almost the same at the locations.

For Crestie and GSW we have yet to fail at Loch Morlich. Have seen Common Crossbill in the trees at the car park entrance to Loch Garten. Might be worth before you go listening to a recording of their calls and then at lest you know you have found some.

For Deers the Findhorn Valley you can get reasonably close.

I have put a link to 25 reports that BF members have made in this area...it will be well worth a look through them for some locations.
