Hi,
I picked up a 6' alloy telescopic curtain pole at a carboot for 50p and today for a laugh i fitted it across my kitchen window outside and tied a few fat balls on.
1hr later went into the kitchen and there was 3 bluetits 1 Robin and a chaffinch all sat there pecking away!:eek!:
I sat down for a while and a little later one of our resident woodpeckers even landed on it but flew off thanks to a bullying Robin LoL
Not bad for a 1st attempt?
The mk2 version will be much better as i intend disguising the alloy pole with Fimo or epoxy putty and make it resemble a tree branch:t:
When my wife came home she couldn't believe all my new feathered friends!
The reason behind the idea is i'm disabled so cannot get out and walk very far so thought it would be nice to attract the birds so i can get some photo's etc.
There's no cats for miles so perfectly safe.
Has anyone else tried a similar idea?
For members in UK Wilkinsons Store sell very good telescopic poles for less than a fiver for small window/door and under a tenner for longer ones (see their website)
Cheers
Brian:t:
