"Don't yellow warbler usually have more yellow in the underside of the tail?" This looks fairly typical for the closed tail on this species.
Additionally this bird appears to have some vague chestnut streaking on the chest which as far as I know does not occur on females. Unless it's very atypical, it's a male.
