Usual boring question John - how many Gadwall across the reserve in total?

The flurry of sightings over the last few days has progressed the year list to 115 and the monthly list for April to 95 species.

Yesterday's sighting of Lesser Whitethroat was the joint earliest return date, an honour shared with 1971.

It was also a very early first date for Common Whitethroat, only surpassed by the 9th April recorded in 2010.

John Sirrett report 1 (possibly 2) male Redstarts by the canoe training pool at the Sailing Pool and a Lesser Whitethroat near the Hen Pool.

Usual boring question John - how many Gadwall across the reserve in total?

It's hard to be sure really Phil. There were gadwall in the Broadmeadow pool at 5pm. . a pair on North Moors at 4pm and 2 on Moors 5pm. SO max of 17...I can't believe they sll went to the Flashes for the evening roost, but until we have all sides covered at the same time hard to say. :t:
