Anyone got any thoughts on the racial identity of this Barn Swallow? Photographed this spring. Photos cropped only, no other editing. Is this within the colour range of H.r.rustica?

So, the answer to your question is yes. IMO your bird is within the range of rustica.

Thanks Graham....I wasn't aware of that. The bird was on Scilly this spring, by the way.......and of course, as we all know, anything out of the ordinary there is worth a second look !!
