Hi -

I am going to Saudi in July or August for business in Riyadh (providing there are any customer left in the heat !!)

I wondered if anyone had an opinion on interesting birds that I might see. I've heard conflicting reports on high summer in KSA - some say that birds are easier to see because the cluster in the shade of bushes etc.

Any thoughts - gratefully received...

I'm in the eastern province in Al Khobar, if you can make it to this neck of the woods I'd be glad to show you around. The last time I lived in Riyadh was 1983 and I can't remember what was around. You may see some red-vented bulbuls as they are reported to be breeding there. I should imagine there would also be common mynahs and white-cheeked bulbuls. If you can arrange your flights to leave via Bahrain I can arrange for a visit to all the island hot spots.

B :) (non alcoholic of course)
