Not Sandwell but nearby (couldn't find anywhere else to post) apparently the Hoopoe has been present for 2 days, can anyone confirm this? How far from parking is the bird? I may go over on limited time. If not hoping it sticks around until weekend. Some do stick around for a while so fingers crossed!

Hoopoe still there at midday today. Park on Millers Green Drive off Enville Rd. Low metal gate is opposite MG Drive and easily "climable" ! Go up small grassy landscaped hill keeping left to avoid fenced-off part (very wet clover clumps underfoot) and bird is usually somewhere on top, in hedge or on fencepost/ground.

Hope that helps.

Hi Dave, it was on Salters Lane, straight on as you cross the motorway bridge it was probably half way up just at the start of where the hedgerow is on both sides. It was flushed. I heard a big rustling and it shot out in front of me. My first one at Sandwell Valley so one to add to my list :)
