My first visit yesterday morning to RSPB Sandwell Valley since the new Visitor Centre was opened, what a splendid new building! A warm and friendly atmosphere in the centre, food and drink vending machines, plenty of seating and a Dyson hand drier in the spotlessly clean loos...what more can one ask for!

Lovely to see so many Goosanders and also a pair of displaying Great Crested Grebes, he offered the weed but at times she turned her back on him! No doubt he will win her heart in time.
