Hello,

on May 4th this year we saw the bird from the attached picture in Tomohon, North Sulawesi. The bird was seen in a garden environment at an altitude of about 800 meters above sea level. Can anyone help me identify it?

Greetings, Sander.

Hi Sander,

Think you have a rare image here of a female Sulawesi Myzomela (Myzomela chloroptera chloroptera ). It is still called Scarlet Honeyeater by most birders but has been split from Myzomela sanguinolenta .
