US Birder Looking For Recommendation? (1 Viewer)

I will be visiting Essex at the end of February and would like some advice on good birding areas to visit. I will be staying in Harlow, Essex and will be prepared to drive for up to 150 miles from Harlow.

Thanks in advance

Hi Iowa Birder

There's several sites worth visiting in Essex, which you can read about in Opus.

Whilst you're in Opus it's worth checking out Suffolk, Norfolk, London and Kent.

I hope these will keep you busy until someone with more local knowledge comes along to help you.

There are quite a few opportunities in Cambridgeshire as well. Grafham Water [60miles], Fen Drayton reserve [45miles], The Ouse Washes plus several other sites. Rutland Water is another possibility that's within easy reach [90-100 miles] of Harlow. Just take the M11 north onto the A14 and Cambridgeshire is your Oyster!! Drop me an PM and perhaps I can show a few spots?

Good luck.
