i've just purchased a Viking AV-66 ED scope which came with a 18x eyepiece, does anyone know what other manufacturers eyepieces will fit as i'm looking to get a zoom,

thanks andrew

Hi,

Viking offers a 20-60 eyepiece which also fits the AV-66 and gives 16.5-50x on there. The twist and click mount looks a also looks a lot like Swarovski and clones so other chinese Swaro clones might fit - the original fits not quite (does not lock which is a hassle for a zoom EP) and also is $$$.

Hi,

unfortunately I don't have a comprehensive list... here's some older thread naming a few.

When trying alternate eyepieces it is always a good idea to either try the EP on your scope in a brick and mortar store or buy online from a supplier with a good return policy.

Please also note that physical fit is just one part of the equation - you also have to check that your scope is able to focus to a sensible minimum focus range and - more importantly - infinity with the new EP!
