Photoshop CS4 advice (1 Viewer)

Having recently installed CS4 on my laptop and imported the first image,the image is split into four quarters with a diagonal line across each quarter and half of each quarter is blacked out.
Any suggestions please.
laptop spec. Intel core 2 Duo 2Gb processor
2 Gb Ram
ATI Mobility radeon HD2600 Graphics

Can you open the image in another program to see if it's the same?

The only other imaging software I have installed is Panasonic Silkypix & Photofun Studio which came with my G1 camera,the images install ok on these.

The first thing to do with Photoshop problems is to reset the preferences.

Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Windows) or Option+Command+Shift (Mac OS) as you start Photoshop.

Just check also you have the latest drivers for you video card. Maybe some faulty RAM? Difficult to say.

Many thanks,preferences reset but no different
Video card drivers are up tp date

Possibly the demo / trial version thats expired ? Just guessing
