Lens without tripod attachment (1 Viewer)

Hi - I have a Canon 300D camera and also a 75-300 IS zoom lens. The lens does not have any means to attach it to a tripod therefore I have to attach the camera to the tripod, but as the lens is reasonably heavy it is then not very well balanced. Does anyone know if there is a tripod attachment for this lens or perhaps some 'gadget' that can convert this lens so that it can be attached to a tripod.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I think Manfrotto do something....if not, there's someone making such a device that's in the speedgraphics catalogue.

Thanks Andy, I will look at your suggestions - I had forgotten that I had posted this :)
