Hello,

Is it realistic to hope that lockdown in parts of the Med will improve the chances of migrants getting through this spring?

Just a thought.

The shooting fraternity in the Med generally, seem to be a protected species, I somehow doubt they'll be kept inside.

Just like all birders now seem to have a garden birding list, perhaps the Mediterranean gun mob will have a list of birds shot from their gardens. I hope not, but I can imagine it in places like Cyprus.

Presumably Birdlife Malta Spring Watch has been cancelled this year? I assume all the other Migration camps have been cancelled too (even if locals could get to them)

Less of a chance than ever of migrants ‘getting through’ the Med ?

What about the supply logistics of shotgun cartridges to the hotspots, wouldn't they be slightly affected and hopefully not be plentiful? Though hunting out there is not just for the wealthy types.
Speaking to someone today near Paphos, the authorities will and do target resident ex pats (fines, stop and question and similar) rather than Cypriot nationals.
