Webcam Birding (1 Viewer)

Phil Andrews

It's only Rock and Roller but I like it
United Kingdom
Conscious of the potential for a Covid19 lockdown in the UK in forthcoming weeks, it would be nice to gather together in one place links to as many birding website sites as possible (Britain and further afield) so those of us not blessed with extensive bird-filled gardens.

Any recommendations?

There are some great estonian webcams but the link changed so I'm sturggling to find them.

Pontu

There used to be a bear cam but there are White Tailed Eagle nest, Lesser Spotted Eagle nest, a beach shot, a owl nest cam etc...

Somebody might be clever enough to find them. On the owl cam I heard a White Backed Woodpecker once and the White Tailed Eagle nest produced Black Woodpecker!!!!

Hi Phil

Over the last few days I made several webcams "Favourites" so I could have a look. Most of them will currently be night-time because of time difference.

Two Osprey Webcams:

The first my local one for Loch of the Lowes. The birds aren't back yet, but there's plenty of bird song, even the geese at night too (noisy brutes!)

Loch of the Lowes Osprey Nest

And this is the one for Rutland Water, the Ospreys have already arrived there:

Rutland Water Ospreys
One of your Ospreys returned this morning Delia, the local Carrion Crow pair were not too pleased it seems......

Ooooh thanks for that Richard. I'd not gone into it yet this morning.

Indeed it's the male LM12 (which translates as Lowes, male, hatched 2012)

Norfolk Wildlife Trust have got 3 cameras operational. A fourth at Hickling Broad is offline while being upgraded.

Cley Marshes, a wide-angle view over Pat's Pool.

Weeting Heath, currently showing an uninteresting bit of field, but aimed at getting nesting stone curlews later in the year.

Ranworth Broad, this camera moves and is a wide angle that makes ID difficult, which may prove frustrating, but it spends part of the time showing a tern raft and surrounding area.

The South-West Wales Wildlife Trust have just got three webcams up and running on Skomer, as part of a fund-raising drive to try to keep the wardens on the island despite the serious loss of revenue with no ticket sales this year.

The main camera is on a set of burrows. Expect distant puffins in daytime and close-up shearwaters at night (it has night vision and a microphone).

The North Haven camera gives a wide view of seals on the beach and seabirds on the cliff.

A burrow camera is up and running, but the nest isn't occupied at present.

The outdoor cameras have microphones. Just before 6 this morning I got a Manxie right up near the main one, full volume. All 3 youtube pages give the address of the trust's donations page; all donations very gratefully received.

Allen Birdcam: Pretoria, South Africa

Southern African garden birds and Nocturnal mammals can be seen as we stream 24/7.

The Allen Birdcam is situated in our Pretoria (Tshwane), Gauteng, suburban garden.
Regular visits from wild bushbabies (Galago primates) and large spotted Genets (mongoose and wild cat family) during the night are an unexpected bonus!
