Drake Gadwall Coney Meadow in front of the viewing screen. I don't usually record this species on the patch until March or April.

A generally quiet time in quite difficult conditions - just few extra items from the past few days:

Peregrine over between Ladywood and Salwarpe
Female Blackcap between Ladywood and Salwarpe feeding on Mistletoe berries

Coal Tit, Treecreepers, Buzzards, Kestrels, Sparrowhawk, Mistle Thrushes, lots of Redwings and Fieldfares, 18+ Linnets Copcut Lane, Mute Swans, Grey Heron, Green woodpecker, Great Spotted Woodpeckers, Goldcrests, a few Siskins, Cormorant and Ravens.

Little egret regularly flushed from Copcut Park by my wife walking her dog in the morning

Ah - that's where they've been - not an area I've visited (yet). Might give it a go over the weekend as it's only a few hundred yards from my house - had assumed it was a bit too busy with people around there. Cheers. :t:

New for the year:

Little Grebe on Tapenhall pool.

Two Coots on pool between Hawford and Chatley - present since yesterday and building a nest today.
