Having trouble with these, my thoughts are 1,2,3 - Blue-Breasted Fairy-Wren ? Is the one with the blue cheek patch a male nearly in eclipse, the other in full eclipse?

4 & 5 - To me it is a butcherbird with that hooked tip on the bill, but I can't pick the species, my guide shows no black butchers over this way - all five photos taken in Kalgoorlie, WA.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Great, thanks sunspot. The lack of markings were throwing me off on the butcher. Could you please tell me what characteristics you spotted to distinguish the white-winged from a blue breasted

Photo 3 is the one I focused on. Blue-breasted in eclipse should have a distinct blue eye ring. It is not a female (no chestnut eye ring and lores). The two candidates are Splendid or White-winged. The blue on the face appears a deeper blue than what I'd expect for Splendid... although I am seeing what looks like a faint hint of blue on the wings... so it might well be a Splendid.

As for the Butcherbird, you can see the 'hood' in photo 4. Pied and Grey are the only Butcherbirds within cooee of Kalgoorlie.

Thanks for your info mate. Maybe these photos will swing you over to splendid (photo 1 more than 2). sorry I didn't post it earlier just found them.
