We spotted these birds in South Central Alaska in August. Could you identify them for us please? many thanks

first bird (first two photos) in post #7 is a loon in breeding plumage. 90% sure it's Common Loon and not Yellow-Billed (which is rare).

The brown duck is a female scaup; I'm leaning toward Greater Scaup.
 
Sorry one more please. I thought this could be a Trumpeter Swan, but then maybe a Tundra Swan. What do you think?

Trumpeter for me. Note the long, all-black bill; Tundra usually has a tiny yellow spot at the base of its slightly shorter bill.
 
I agree with hermit thrush, Wilson's warbler, red-necked grebe, common loon, and greater scaup, but I'm not sure on the swan.
