I'm not sure of the correct name for them but I think they're Fiddler Crabs they have one big front claw instead of 2 like normal crabs. I saw 100s when I was there a couple of years ago.
 
Yep, fiddler crabs. I was suprised the first time I visited Odiel (Huelva) assuming that fiddler crabs were only present in tropical areas.

The large claw is consumed by people in the area, especially as a component of the local "paella".
