Hybrid Sparrow?, Pennsylvania USA (1 Viewer)

Hi guys,

I posting this for a fellow PA birder. He posted it on the PABIRDS listserv asking what we thought. Some suggestions that came up were White-throated X Dark eyed Junco, WTS X Am Tree Sparrow, or just a variant WTS. With his permission I posted on here to see what you guys thought.

Hey Matt,

Thanks for sharing the link. Cool looking bird. The sparrow X junco hybrid cross is apparently not too super rare. Here are a couple of online examples that look quite similar to the mystery bird.

Hi Matt,

I emailed Joe yesterday with my opinion that it was a White-throated Sparrow X Dark-eyed Junco hybrid and that was before he posted the sixth picture showing the white outer tail feathers, that clinches it for me. As Chris says not super rare as rarities go.

Mike: I didn't know you were on the listserv. Anyways this seems to clinch it as well so I'm comfortable throwing out my Tree Sparrow X WTS suggestion. I'll email him a link to this thread.
