Arctic Tern [A-Z challenge]

Here is my first attempt at painting terns.

This is from a photo by Gaukur. [Thanks Gaukur]

I found it hard to get much detail at this size [2.5" x 3.5"][6cm x 9cm], so will probably try again a bit larger.

I love that painting - reminds me of a couple of books I have, illustrated by Bruce Pearson I think. The strong lighting is wonderful.
