Anumara forbesi (P. Sclater, 1886). Without access to the original article (Powell, Barker, Lanyon, Burns, Klicka & Lovett (in press;abstract online 27.11.2013)) (see Icteridae #5, in parent forum), I am assuming that the newly coined genus Anumara is a Brazilian Portuguese name for Forbes's Blackbird, based on the Tupí ana kindred, úm black, and ara bird, and alludes to its black ani-like plumage. The Tupí Anum, which gave rise to the English substantive 'Ani' for Crotophaga, has various suggested etymologies, but Anumara is not given in Garcia (1929), Nomes de Aves em lingua Tupí. Perhaps someone with full access or one of the authors could lighten my darkness?

Powell et al...
Anumara (new genus); Type species: Agelaeus forbesi P. L. Sclater; Included taxa: monotypic; Etymology: this masculine name is a formalization of the local Brazilian name, anumará, for the type species (van Perlo, 2009; reported as arumará, per W. A. Forbes, by Short and Parkes, 1979); ...
