I need some help!

I want to make some video's for my site and really don't know where to start with equipment and software. I was thinking some short interviews and how to guides. Some interspersed with shots and voice over.

Some will be taken outside.

Also I have loads of Canon lenses so would love to use those if I could - what are the options?

We ran some trials with my friends point and shoot compact camera and were quite pleased with the results although the sound was rubbish.

Not sure what to do or what the options are?!?
