A Dunlin? (1 Viewer)

Is this a Dunlin, 4 fed on the Saltmarsh in Calshot, again in winter. It was small like a Plover.

I have absolutely no idea what this bird is. Could be anything. A Dunlin has a VERY distinctive beak. I can't see the beak in this image....

As with previous postings above most likely (99%) to be a Dunlin however there really is no way to be 100% certain on the ID based on these images. It will come down to probabilities along side what little information is available in the pictures.

Dunlin most likely as they do occur inland more often than species such as Knot and a wintering Little Stint is perhaps even less likely and perhaps doesn't fit the pixel heavy images.

Seriously, it is an obvious normal Dunlin. Now, indeed, we cannot exclude a unlikely vagrant such Rock Sandpiper... perfect 100% certainty don't exist... :)

Didn't know where Calshot was off the top of my head as not mentioned in the posting and the poster is in Buckinghamshire so made assumption that was inland. Perhaps the 'saltmarsh' part should have led me to the coast and where the Spanish Sparrow has been residing.
