Free or Cheap web site for photo,s (1 Viewer)

seggs

Alrite!
Hi
Can anyone recommend a site to make a Gallery for my photo,s ?
This site must be easy to use as i am not the best with a pc. and be cheap or free.
Ive looked at a few on the net and looks to be a bit of a minefield!..
Also one or two ive looked at seem to have limited pages.
Thanks in advance

Stating the obvious first - www.flickr.com is good, and only works out at about £12 a year. There's a free option, but you're limited to three albums and only 200 shots in your "photostream" (although it will host as many as you want).

A basic site is www.freewebs.com Its a bit basic but it does what it says on the tin.

Hi Steve,

You could try http://fotopic.net/ Your limited to 2 different Gallery's but that should be fine for what you need! Your given a good deal of free space (as long as you resize your photos) you can buy extra space if needed, which is very reasonable (Look out for the 2 for 1 specials) Ive only spent about £20 on extra space from the start & still not used more than a 1/3 of my quota on my 2 gallery's :t:

All the best,

Dave

Thanks everyone will look into them all in length, but some great photo,s and sites by you all on a quick visit,...better sites than one,s ive come up with:t:
The whole idea that ive been mulling about with was to have a personal web page for my Photo,s. Taken over the last year or so.

Freewebs is excellent I have to say... you can have a 'basic' website that's very easy to set up and has all the tutorials etc. etc. and, if you like what you get, you can then upgrade (you don't have to) and subscribe... mine's about £2.50 a month (although you can do it for a wee bit less annually).

Just to show an example of how it looks, here's my website:

Try freewebs - it's free until you go big, but you get 20 pages and can have photo galleries. You do need to make sure you don't use "large" images though because there is a limit on how much you can store. I have about 300 photos on mine and have only used half the amount. feel free to check it out.

I use freehostia, its pretty straightforward to setup, all I have to do is once a year is to re-register otherwise the site is deleted, I could pay $9 dollars a year to have more options but I am happy the way it is. I am now on my second year.

PBase are quite good. I use them for the bulk of my pics and it worked out (at summer 2008 exchange rates) at £11 a year for storage. At current exchange rates it will be a little more, around £15(?).

I too can recommend freewebs, although I have upgraded its still very cheap and I have over a thousand images onsite in fourteen different galleries. Starting off from scratch with no knowledge of websites I find it very easy to use.

I prefer Picasa at http://picasaweb.google.com

It's free, you get loads of storage, and you get a free downloadable software to help with editing and organization. In addition, you can make you "albums" public or private. The private ones you can share with whomever you choose to share with providing they have a valid email address.

Thanks again to all for the help.
Ive updated the site and changed a few things, early days still and a couple more sections to up load.
Link below.

Try www.weebly.com for making a free website, it also has a photo gallery that you can add to your site which by the way is very easy to make with their nice selection of templates.
